Welcome to Jane Kennedy Quilts
I was born in Ord, Nebraska and have lived most of my life in the Midwest. Through school, I enjoyed every art class I could take with my favorite medium being pen & ink and watercolor. In 1992 I put aside my watercolors for a new palette. A fabric palette. There is an amount of fun in the search for just the right fabrics and threads for the work I have imagined in my head. In 1982 I married my husband, Jim. Between Jim and my son, Austin, I receive the best moral support anyone could want.
About Jane's work:
My quilts have been part of shows and competitions on local, national and international levels, as well as in many magazines. In 2006 the art quilt “Whose Woods Are These” had the distinct honor of being one of forty quilts chosen to be part of the first “$100,000 Quilting Challenge” and went on to be part of the year long traveling showcase.
This past year has been filled with working on new techniques and learning how to incorporate them into my work. I enjoy sharing my art quilts at guild lectures and teaching workshops in the area.
